Visiting Dakar and registering for the Dakar, Marathon!

Abibatou
I am currently in Dakar, Senegal on a long term vacation to visit my good friend, Abibatou and thought I would write about this great deal for running a Marathon that ends today.

Today, you can subscribe for the Dakaroise, a 5km marathon for women for FREE at the Université Cheikh-Anta-Diop.  Registration will be located at the entrance of COUD(centre des Oeuvres Universitaires de Dakar).   The Marathon is Friday April 7, 2017.

I thought I would come here to practice my french and to get reacquainted with old frineds like Abibatou who came to visit me in St Louis as an exchange student a few years ago.

This event is a very important sports event for the Senegal as it is the first one of its kind to promote Dakar and of course as a way to bring awareness for women's right and the fight against cancer.

I met some interesting people while I was registering for the Dakaroise who work for a compagnie de paris sportifs virtuels in the french speaking countries of Africa. They were also registering for the marathon so I would like to say hi to Bakari and his crew!

For those that are interested in running the marathon, the participation fees for Senegalese and foreign runners who are resident in Senegal are:

•    3000 FCFA for the marathon
•    2500 FCFA for the half marathon
•    2000 FCFA for the 10 km
•    1500 FCFA for the Dakar
•    500 FCFA for the junior races

Best Deal on Costa Rica Real Estate

Playa de Coco Costa Rica
This is my first post so please be patient as I will try to improve as I keep on writing.

I am currently visiting a friend in Costa Rica and I thought about living in Costa Rica as an Expat for a year or so.  This is why she introduced me to several Costa Rica real estate companies so that I could look at houses to buy or rent during my stay.

I was not sure yet where I wanted to buy or rent a home.  Heck I wasn't even sure if I wanted to stay in the city or at the beach so my friend, Cassey introduced me to Ingrid who is one of the best real estate broker in Costa Rica to help me find that new home.

Since I was not sure where I wanted to live, she suggest for me to look at some real estate in Escazu Costa Rica since it is only about one hour from the beach and just a few minutes away from some great shopping centers.

In addition, Escazu is a hot spot for expats which means that it would make the moving transition easier for me as I do not speak much Spanish other than asking where the bathrooms are and how to order at a restaurant.

So yesterday, I visited several homes, condos and apartments which I must say are very nice with all of the modern amenities from home but it is a bit above my price range so it looks like I will have to look for another cheaper neighborhood.

So next time I blog, I will write about the next neighborhood Ingrid will be taking me at.
